Conservation in listed Building

Working in listed buildings brings its own challenges. Often it is too expensive and time consuming to make an alteration and the best solution is to repair the existing window(s).

Recently working in a Grade II listed building in Brighton the client wanted a soft wood single glazed window, which was falling apart to be replaced with an identical window, but double glazed. After several months taking to the local planning department and architects, it was decided that the existing window would be repaired.

All the rotten wood needed to be removed back to solid timber.
